We recently tested out the STIHL HSA 45 Cordless Hedge trimmer on our vine hedge, here at Dursley Garden Machinery. The hedge had grown quite thick so we thought this to be a great opportunity to put the HSA 45 through its paces. Below is a picture of the hedge before it was cut back.

Weighing in at only 2.3 kg and with a 20 inch cutting bar, the HSA 45 was extremely easy to use and was able to provide a good cutting area, enabling us to cut the hedge in a good amount of time. The single-sided cutter blade had no trouble at all cutting through the hedge and with the 24 mm tooth spacing, it coped with the thicker parts with ease. This resulted in a lovely even finish to the hedge when completed as can be seen below.

Before we started cutting, the battery level indicator was showing 3 bars (60%) and after we had finished, it was showing 2 bars (40%). This shows that it would be easily capable of doing all of the hedges in a small domestic garden. And at only £99 inc VAT it is a real bargain!
